We believe in the truth of 2 Corinthians 5:17, that “If anyone is in Christ, they are new creations; the old has passed away and behold, the new has come.” We honor the command of providing our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God (Romans 12:1), and living lives that give evidence of “being in Christ.” This is the reality of Christian life, the victory that Christ has provided for each of us, the victory that we could not gain on our own.
With this as our basis, we hold the following as the core values and guiding principles of our fellowship:
Scripture: God has “exalted His Word” above the things that mark religion. We place value the Scripture as the Word of God and honor its authority in our lives. Romans 1:16; 1 Timothy 3:16
Holy Spirit: We recognize the Person and the ministry of the Holy Spirit as a present, empowering, and integral part of living Christ-like lives. John 14:15 – 16:33; Acts 1 – 4
People: We hold all people as being created in the image of God and honor Christ’s commandment to love and serve them. Genesis 1:27; Matthew 22:36-40; John 13:34-35
Unity: We see unity within the Body of Christ as a vitally important part of God’s plan. Psalm 133; John 17:21-26
Prayer: We embrace prayer as a key to Christ-likeness and see it as vitally integral to successfully living our lives in Christ. Matthew 7:7-8; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; 1 Timothy 2:1-3
Excellence: We highly value excellence in every aspect of our fellowship and ministry as well as in our own lives. Colossians 3:23; Romans 16:19; Galatians 6:10
